Lucy Mower is a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Integrative Physiology from the University of Utah. During her time at the U, Lucy completed her dietetic internship which involved 1,200 supervised practice hours in community, clinical, and food service settings. Her studies included advanced nutrition courses such as medical nutrition therapy, counseling, communications, micronutrient and macronutrient metabolism, and nutritional biochemistry. In addition, Lucy specialized her degree in sports nutrition and aspires to work with athletic populations on fueling for optimal performance. Lucy acknowledges the importance of patient-centered nutrition counseling and education, utilizing various approaches to ensure that the nutrition intervention is individualized for her clients and patients. Lucy’s passion for food and cooking allows her to help others develop healthy, sustainable eating patterns that promote a positive relationship with food. She is always willing to discuss current popular culture diet approaches or assist in moving away from the diet-mentality and towards practical problem-solving techniques to promote healthy, sustainable eating patterns. Lucy currently works as a clinical dietitian with Intermountain Healthcare to facilitate their accredited Diabetes Prevention Program and in her free time, can be found outside exploring Utah’s incredible outdoors.
